Mrs. Basu’s Uncensored Familism by Chirasree Bose is a wonderful take over the common life of a newly married woman that questions the uncanny familism and adjustment in a new household. The protagonist Mrs. Arpita describes her life with her in- laws and husband Aakash in the most hilarious way possible. The first party introduces the readers to Arpita’s family members- mother-in-law, father- in-law and Malti. Malti is the helper of the father, frozen near the paralysed man’s bed.
