She doesn’t hide her tears from me. She doesn’t rush to the bathroom, hide in a corner or look down when those big round eyes get blurred. She doesn’t fake a smile at me. But yes, when she laughs, I know it’s genuine. She doesn’t hesitate before thinking aloud, smiling to herself, dancing with her hands spread out. She loves her life.
But what catches me off guard is she changes around humans. Being one herself, she’s scared of her own species. I’m so lucky to not be a human who hinders her wings. I’m her best friend Poogy.
